Jean Smart Brings the Laughs on ‘SNL’: Musical Monologue Includes Jabs at Eric Adams and ‘Lesbian’ Fanbase!

“Saturday Night Live” host Jean Smart kicked off the iconic sketch show’s 50th season with a lively monologue celebrating its hometown, the Big Apple.

Wearing a dazzling pink pantsuit, the “Hacks” star exclaimed, “I can’t express how honored I am to be hosting the premiere episode of Season 50. It’s truly amazing to be here.” With a playful smile, she added, “I haven’t dressed up and had hundreds of people applaud for me in days,” referencing her recent Emmy win for Best Actress in a Comedy Series.

Smart reminisced about watching the very first episode of “SNL,” recalling how she dreamed of hosting it one day. “And this was the first Saturday that fit my schedule,” she said with a smirk. Reflecting on her early days in New York as a young actor, she joked, “I always think of New York as my home, even though I have a much nicer place in L.A.”
